(THAMES CENTRE, ON) – On February 12, 2018 at approximately 1:45 a.m., members of the OPP Tactics and Rescue Unit arrested an adult male in regards to this event.

The Middlesex OPP Crime Unit continues to investigate this occurrence. No charges have been laid at this time. Catherine Street has reopened and traffic is no longer affected.

The male in custody did not pose a threat to public safety.

DISTURBANCE CALL NETS HEAVY POLICE RESPONSE

(THAMES CENTRE, ON) – On February 11, 2018 at approximately 5:30 p.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a disturbance at a residence on Catherine Street, Municipality of Thames Centre.

The West Region (WR) OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT), WR Tactics and Rescue Unit (TRU) and the WR Mobile Support Unit have been deployed to the area.

As a result of this active police investigation, Catherine Street is closed to traffic between Elgin Road and Hunt Road. Motorists are asked to find alternate routes.
